cruising during the winter season when the weather is at its most settled. Our vessel, the
Milford Wanderer, designed along the lines of a traditional trading scow, provides
the ideal way to explore this spectacular part of the world.

Fiordland's southernmost fiords are magnificent. Mountains rise straight
from the sea. Rugged coastlines indented with sheltered waterways and dense rainforest
together with a challenging climate make an incredible wilderness.
Your Fiordland journey begins with a cruise across island-studded Lake Manapouri and
over Wilmot Pass to join the Milford Wanderer awaiting at Deep Cove, Doubtful
Sound.
In Fiordland, we have three cruise options for you to consider:
Dusky Sound Discovery Cruise (5 days)
For five wonderful days you will explore three of New Zealand's most stunning fiords
-Doubtful, Breaksea and Dusky Sounds.
Preservation Inlet Discovery Cruise (7 days)
You will enjoy all the highlights of the Dusky Sound Discovery Cruise and then journey
further south to Chalky and Preservation Inlets. With this extended seven day cruise
option a one-way helicopter transfer between West Arm and Preservation Inlet
increases exploration time.
Northern Fiords Discovery Cruise (5 days)
Includes five days and four nights visiting George Sound, Caswell Sound, Thompson/Bradshaw
Sound (also includes one way helicopter flight).

Discovery South - Stewart Island
Stewart Island combines breathtaking scenery, rare wildlife and
fascinating history. Reflecting its Maori name, Rakiura (land of the glowing
skies), dawn and twilight hues can be spectacular. There is no better way to experience
Stewart Island than during the winter season when the weather is at its most settled.
Your
six day journey begins with a cruise across Foveaux Strait from Bluff to Stewart Island's
eastern shoreline. For the next six days you will cruise in some of the most magical
waters in New Zealand and have interesting trips ashore.
- Wildlife viewing including possible encounters with kiwi, penguins, seals, sea lions and
sea birds
- Visits to interesting historic sites and old settlements
- Guided walks through rainforest, along deserted beaches and up to scenic lookouts
