courses Day 1: Arrival in Christchurch
You will be met and transfered to your accommodation at Clearwater, where
the 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Sir Bob Charles ( former winner of
the British Open) and challenges players of all levels. Each hole features five tee
positions.
Day 2: Christchurch - Terrace Downs
In the Rakaia Gorge region, the Terrace Downs course is rated
amongst the top three in New Zealand. Features include the 11 lakes, 70 bunkers, four tee
positions and stunning views. Stay on- site in the villa accommodation
Day 3: Terrace Downs - Queenstown
Travel through tussocky high country past Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. Stay two nights
at Millbrook Resort, designed to embody the relaxed New Zealand country
lifestyle. Enthusiasts from around the world enjoy Millbrook Resrt's spectacular par 72-
championship golf course, designed by New Zealand's
renowned master golfer, Sir Bob Charles.
Day 4: Queenstown
Play Millbrook's own championship golf course, then take in some local
sightseeeing in the afternoon or play a round of golf on one of Queenstown's other
excellent courses. Queenstown has a wealth of activities including hiking, fishing,
lake cruises, 4WD safaries and winter skiing or you can simply soak up the atmosphere of
this exciting international resort.
Day 5: Queenstown - Taupo
Fly to Rotorua and then drive to Lake Taupo via the thermal wonderland of Wai-O-tapu. Stay
two nights at Huka Lodge. One of the most exclusive vacation destinations
in the southern hemisphere, Huka Lodge provides standards of hospitality seldom
acheived elsewhere. The service is complete but unobtrusive, the cuisine and accommodation
surpass all expectation and the location is idyllic.
Day 6: Taupo
Play a round at the internationally acclaimed Wairakei International golf course,
rated by US Golf Digest (January 1996) as one of the top 20 courses outside of
the USA.
Day 7: Taupo - Auckland
Travel north to Auckland, visiting the Waitomo glow-worm caves on the
way. For the your stay in the 'City Of Sails' we have chosen the Hilton Hotel, recently
built on the Princes Wharf in the heart of the city. A 'bow' suite has been reserved in
this ship-themed hotel, and reservations for dinner mean that you can relax and enjoy the
ambience.
Day 8: Auckland
Play a round at Gulf Harbour, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, arguably
the world's finest designer of classic golf courses. The course features four sets of
tees, spectacular finishing holes, ocean views,rolling terrain and classic, traditional
values.
Day 9: Auckland - Bay Of Islands
You will be driven north through the Waipoua Forest, where the giant kauri trees give you
a sense of the unique history of this area and the industry it supported, interpreted at
the Matakohe Kauri Musuem. Stay two nights at Kauri Cliffs Lodge
with spectacular views over the Bay Of Islands and Pacific Ocean.
Day 10: Kauri Cliffs
Kauri Cliffs was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando,
Florida. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs,
which plunge to the sea. The beautiful inland hotels wind through marsh, forest and
farmland. A golfing paradise!
Day 11: Kauri Cliffs - Auckland
Return to Auckland to join your afternoon or evening flight.
