Day 1 TranzAlpine Train, Franz Josef.
This morning board the award-winning TranzAlpine train for a journey renowned as New Zealand's 'Great Rail Adventure. Disembark at Arthurs Pass and continue to Hokitika by coach. Continue to Franz Joseph for the evening.

Day 2 Franz Joseph, Queenstown, Dine Around Dinner.
Travel around the Haast River by safari boat, capturing breathtaking views of the massive glacier-formed Haast Valley. Rejoin our coach and continue to Queenstown. This evening, you have a choice of four dining experiences.

Day 3 Queenstown, Freedom of Choice Touring.
Today we have a selection of activities for you to choose from and we will include it! Perhaps a tour through some of Queenstown's local gardens, visit some of the local wineries, a jet boat ride or a double-decker tour around Queenstown. APT Freedom Concept. Enjoy a garden tour, take a guided tour of local wineries, enjoy an exhilarating jet boat ride, take a fun double-decker bus tour or a ‘Lord of the Rings’ Safari

Day 4 Milford Sound Cruise.
Today we follow the Remarkables mountain range and trace the shore of Lake Wakatipu to Fiordland National Park. We board our Red Boat cruise and journey the full length of this beautiful fjord. View cascading waterfalls, sheer cliffs, dense rainforests and towering mountains in this World Heritage-listed area. This afternoon we arrive in Te Anau.

Day 5 Te Anau, Dunedin, Freedom of Choice Touring.
Leaving the dramatic landscape of the Fiordland region we journey through rolling Southland countryside. Travel via the rural support towns of Lumsden, Gore and Balclutha to the east coast and the city of Dunedin. This afternoon you choose an activity and we will include it. APT Freedom Concept. Tour historic Olveston House, discover Otago Peninsula wildlife, visit Speight's Brewery or tour Larnach Castle.

Day 6 Dunedin, MacKenzie Country.
Today we journey north along the coast to view the unique Moeraki Beach boulders, giant rocks that have been eroded by wave action and lie scattered on the beach. We turn inland and travel past the beautiful azure-coloured man-made lakes of Pukaki, Aviemore and Benmore, all developed for hydro-electric power schemes. Continue to Twizel, a town built on the outskirts of Mt Cook National Park.

Day 7 Mt Cook, Christchurch
Today we journey into New Zealand's highlands and Mt Cook National Park. You may wish to experience a flight over this inspiring region (weather permitting, own expense). Visit the tiny Church of the Good Shepherd before leaving the high country. Cross the Rakaia River and the vast Canterbury Plains to Christchurch, where your tour concludes and a departure transfer is included.
