Arrive ChristchurchOn arrival in Christchurch you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Day 2. TranzAlpine Train, Franz JosefWe board the world-renowned TranzAlpine Train to journey through the Southern Alps. The
TranzAlpine is train is rated as one of the top train rides in the world and is an
unforgettable experience. We rejoin our coach at Greymouth and continue to Hokitika. At
Hokitika, there is the opportunity to see Pounamu (Jade) being carved into jewellery.
Enter World Heritage-listed Westland National Park, where you can view the magnificent
glaciers. There may be the opportunity to enjoy a scenic flight over this breathtaking
region (own expense, weather permitting). Day 3. Franz Josef, WanakaWe leave this World Heritage-listed area, travelling through Haast Pass and over the
Southern Alps and along the shores of picturesque lakes Hawea and Wanaka. Continue to
Wanaka, surrounded by Mount Aspiring National Park. . Day 4. Wanaka, Queenstown, Dine AboutJourney to the village of Arrowtown, an old gold rush settlement and discover its
history. Visit the Lake District museum, before continuing to Queenstown, situated on Lake
Wakatipu. Tonight we explore Queenstown even further with our Dine About Dinner. You may
wish to take a gondola ride to the Skyline Restaurant and enjoy dinner and spectacular
views over Queenstown. Perhaps cruise on the TSS Earnslaw steamboat to Walter Peak Sheep
Station for a homestead carvery dinner. Or enjoy a meal at one of the diverse restaurants
and cafes in Queenstown. Three Night Stay: Queenstown Gardens Hotel. Day 5. Queenstown, Exclusive ExperiencesToday you choose the activity and we will include it. A Queenstown Double Decker
Explorer tour, an Original Wine Tour of some of the local wineries, an
exhilarating jetboat ride on the Shotover River or a garden tour. Perhaps the Safari of
the Rings tour or an adventure into Skippers Canyon by 4WD might appeal or a walk around
Lake Wakatipu on a Lakeshore Forest and Bird Walk. Day 6. QueenstownToday is at your leisure to enjoy a day experiencing the endless scenic attractions in
this fabulous lakeside resort. Day 7. Queenstown, Milford Sound, Te AnauTravel through Fiordland National Park and cruise the full length of beautiful Milford
Sound, travelling below mile-high Mitre Peak. This afternoon travel to Te Anau. Day 8. Te Anau, DunedinToday we journey via beautiful Lake Manapouri to the southern-most coast of New
Zealand. Continue to Dunedin, renowned as the Edinburgh of the South. The
remainder of today is at your leisure to discover the historic city of Dunedin. Day 9. Dunedin, Exclusive ExperiencesThis afternoon you choose the activity and we will include it. Perhaps a visit to
Speights Brewery and Heritage Centre. A trip to the Otago Peninsula to see the Royal
Albatross Colony or travel to Penguin Place to view the rare yellow-eyed penguins, the
Hoiho, or maybe a visit to Larnach Castle, New Zealands only castle, for
a tour. Or perhaps join the Taieri Gorge Train at Dunedins stately railway station
and journey through the heart of Otago. Day 10. Dunedin, Mt CookTravel north along the coast to view the unique Moeraki Beach boulders. Pass
glacier-fed lakes of incredible colour on our journey to Mt Cook National Park, a World
Heritage area and home to Mt Cook, Australiasias highest mountain. You may wish to
take an optional scenic flight over this awe-inspiring region (weather permitting, own
expense) and land on the mighty Tasman Glacier. Day 11. Mt Cook, ChristchurchVisit the beautiful glacier-fed lake of Tekapo and view the tiny Church of the Good
Shepherd, built from local wood and stone. We travel through Burkes Pass across the
patchwork plains of Canterbury. Continue onto the Garden City of Christchurch.
Day 12. ChristchurchOur tour concludes after breakfast and a departure transfer to the airport is included.
