Today enjoy a spectacular scenic journey aboard the TranzAlpine Train. We rejoin our coach at Greymouth and continue to Franz Josef to see amazing glaciers.

Day 3 Franz Josef, Wanaka
View incredible scenery today as we leave this World Heritage-listed area and travel over the incredible Southern Alps. Continue to Wanaka township originally settled during the goldrush era of last century and enjoy an overnight stay in this inspiring place of tranquillity.

Day 4 Wanaka, Queenstown
Depart Wanaka this morning and journey to the delightful village of Arrowtown, an old gold rush settlement. Upon arrival visit the Lakes District Museum. Continue to Queenstown and enjoy a wide range of activities available in and around this popular holiday destination. Tonight you choose to dine at any of 15 restaurants and we will include it!

Day 5 Queenstown, Personalised Sightseeing (BD)
Today you choose the activity and we will include it. There are nine options for you to choose from. Perhaps take a Queenstown Double-Decker bus tour, a guided tour of local and distinct wineries, an exhilarating jetboat ride or a relaxing garden tour. There are also a selection of Adventure Options available.

Day 6 Milford Sound, Te Anau
This morning travel through Fiordland National Park where lush rainforests meet snow-capped mountains. On arrival into Milford we cruise the full length of this beautiful fiord, travelling below famous mile-high Mitre Peak and beneath spectacular waterfalls. This afternoon we have a relaxing drive returning through Eglington Valley and Homer Tunnel to the pretty lakeside settlement of Te Anau.

Day 7 Te Anau, Dunedin, Personalised Sightseeing
Today we view diverse scenery as we journey to the southern-most coast of New Zealand. Dunedin has a strong Scottish historical heritage and is renowned as the ‘Edinburgh of the South’. This afternoon you have the opportunity to explore this region fully with our Exclusive Experiences, where you may choose an activity that best suits your interests. Perhaps visit Olveston House or visit the Otago Peninsula to view a Royal Albatross colony or Yellow-eyed Penguin in their natural environment. You may prefer to take a guided tour of Speights Brewery Heritage Centre and sample a popular local brew or visit historic Olveston House.

Day 8 Dunedin, Mt Cook
Travel north along the coast to view the unique and fascinating Moeraki Beach boulders. Stop at Oamaru, a town renowned for its distinctive limestone architecture. Pass glacier-fed lakes of incredible colour on our journey to Mt Cook National Park. You may wish to take an optional scenic flight over this awe-inspiring alpine region (weather permitting, own expense).

Day 9 Mt Cook, Christchurch
This morning we visit the beautiful lake of Tekapo and view the Church of the Good Shepherd. Leaving the High Country and its sheep stations behind, we travel on to the ‘Garden City’. Tonight enjoy our Christchurch Dine About. You have three magnificent restaurants to choose from located in your hotel. Canterbury Tales is a superb fine dining restaurant or perhaps enjoy a Teppen-yaki Japanese experience at Yamagen. If a casual dining atmosphere is more to your liking, then enjoy a meal at the hotel bistro.
