Reporting time 7.45 am. Daily departures from the Sky City Coach Terminal at 8.15 am.
DAY 1: Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua
The Bombay Hills signal the end of sprawling Auckland city as the lush Waikato pasture
lands take you past Hamilton and on to Waitomo caves. Enjoy a subterranean boat ride under
an eerie canopy of glow worm lights. On across the Waikato and Mamaku Hills to fiery
Rotorua. We recommend you attend a delicious Maori hangi (feast) and concert tonight
(optional). Overnight in Rotorua
DAY 2: Rotorua - Lake Taupo
The half day sightseeing tour is included - see roaring geysers, boiling mud and steaming
pools at the thermal area, tame trout and Kiwi at the springs and performing sheep and
dogs at the Agrodome. Drive south past Waiotapu and through pine forests until you reach
Wairakei where thermal steam billows across the road. Soon you arrive at deep blue Lake
Taupo, a giant volcanic crater. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore this
wonderful scenic area. Overnight at Lake Taupo
DAY 3: Taupo - Auckland
This morning a guided tour will take you to the mighty Huka Falls, Wairakei, the Aratiatia
River Rapids and the Craters of the Moon. In the afternoon you drive via Cambridge and
Hamilton to return to Auckland, arriving at aproximately 7:00 pm.
